Overview

The trek is framed by road travel: Day 1 starts with the drive from Gondar to Sankaber, and Day 3 ends with the return to Gondar. Days 1 and 2 are sustained walking days with changes of height and exposed viewpoints; the climb to Bwahit Pass on Day 3 is the main ascent.

The Ras Bwahit summit is optional and depends on the walker and conditions on the day. Before arranging the trek, ask the operator to confirm daily walking times, where you sleep on the first two nights, whether the summit can be offered for your dates, and the guiding and park arrangements.
